Questions
• What do I do if I’m in an accident?
The first thing you should do is check for injuries and
contact emergency services if necessary.
Move your vehicle to a safe area.
Exchange automobile information (such as make, model, license
plate# and VIN#) and insurance information (such as company
name, policy#, claims dept phone#, agent name and phone#)
with the other parties involved.
Call your insurance company and report the facts of the
accident. Let them know that you wish to use Better Body
and Paint for the repair and feel free to give them our
phone# and address.
Call us and give us your claim information. We will then
assist you with the repair process. If your car is not driveable
please contact ______ Towing at _________and request that
your vehicle be towed to Better Body and Paint. We will
coordinate payment of the towing charges with the Towing
and the insurance company.
• My insurance company inspected my car and
wrote me a check. What do I do now?
Call us so we can schedule your repair. When you drop off
your car we will need a copy of the preliminary estimate
that the insurance company based the check on. We will use
that as a road map for the repair working with the insurance
company to add to that estimate as additional damages are
discovered.
• I wanted to drop off my car at your facility
but the insurance company wants to look at it first and
write their own estimate. Is that OK?
Yes. Once they inspect your vehicle and document the damage,
they should hand you a copy of their preliminary estimate.
Once you have this call us and we will schedule your repairs.
• When am I required to pay my deductible?
Deductibles are not due until repairs are complete and
you pick up your vehicle.
• Another shop said they would waive my deductible.
Will you do that?
Your insurance policy is a legal contract between you and
your insurance company. We do not want to violate that contract.
Also, some shops that waive deductibles will cut corners
on repairs in order to make up that difference. We want
to repair your vehicle to the highest standard possible
so that its appearance and function meet your expectations.
• I won’t need a rental car but will
need a ride home or to work when I drop off my car. Can
you provide that service?
Yes, we would be happy to provide you with a shuttle ride.
